Nature Week
This was our last weekly session in our Histon venue and along with nature based activities we had some of the children's favourite activities from the last few weeks.

There was exploring the different herbs scents and textures and visual exploration with a magnifying glass. We had a sensory sieving and transferring tray, satsuma juice and sliced strawberries for snack, window washing with a spray bottle, arts and crafts and different visual discrimination and fine motor skills refinement activities.

Minibeasts Week
This week the children explored insect figurines and practiced transferring them with tongs and we had books all about bees, insects and different minibeasts for the children and their parent/carers to look at.

We had fun at the creativity table by adding dot stickers to drawings of ladybirds, using a chalk board and using a liquid glue tray to explore using glue to stick card cut outs of mini beasts to paper.

There were plenty of hand strengthening practical life activities such as transferring water with a baster and stretching elastic bands across dowels.

Spring week
Spring week was just lovely - The children made their own snack by slicing strawberries with a cutter, there were transferring activities , sorting activities, and many more montessori informed activities all of which support fine motor skills refinement, hand eye coordination and concentration.

Mark Making & Books
We had a great time in class exploring all things books and mark making activities. The children engaged with all the mark making activities with interest and concentration.
They used the 'magic cloth' for repeated mark making, drew on a mirror with markers, used a chalk board and explored stamps on a line.
We had a variety of montessori informed activites in class to support early literacy skills and fine motor skills refinement.

All about
love

In this Class we explored rose petal water for fun water play where the children could transfer water between containers and explore the scents, colours and feel of the rose petals.

We had a flower arranging table where children could prepare a small arrangement of flowers to take home for their loved ones. We use real life object where possible so we used real flowers and not artificial flowers.

Add in making cards for our loved ones and some lemon scented play dough along with our traditional montessori informed activities and a fun time was had by all.
